Mehmood Ali was born on 29th September 1932. He was a prolific comic actor who was constantly popular in the 60s and 70s. He is also a well-known singer and director. He started his career as a child artist in the movie Kismet (1943). He has appeared on over 300 Hindi films and received 25 Filmfare nominations. His notable films are, Kaagaz Ke Phool(1959), Chhoti Bahen(1959), Manzil (1960), Rakhi (1963), Ghar Basake Dekho (1963), Grahasti (1963), Zindagi (1964),Chitralekha (1964), Bhoot Bangla (1965), Pyar Kiye Ja (1966) Padosan (1968), Neel Kamal (1968), Waaris (1969), Paras (1972) Wardaan (1975), Khud-Daar (1982), Andaz Apna Apna,( 1994), Guddu (1995), etc. he die in his sleep on 23rd July 2004.
